The Egyptian crisis continues to worsen as reports now have it that the entire gamut of social networking web sites have been blocked in Egypt. This act is an extension of the crisis that has been brewing in Egypt for the last few weeks.  Opposition parties are demanding that the President step down after serving nearly three decades as President.

Problems in Egypt have been brewing for some time now. Tension was clearly visible in the day leading up to this unexplainable act of censorship.  The last few weeks have seen umpteen clashes between  the opposition and the ruling party over several issues. There have been cases of tear gas firing and rubber bullet firing by the police to quell the protesters.

The bone of contention between the parties is over power and politics. The opposition wants the government to end three decades of emergency rule  and open the gates for the current president Hosini Mubarak to leave. But reports had it that the president’s son Gamal Mubarak is all set to take over the reigns. And the current round of protests is over this decision as it would literally put an end to the opposition’s efforts to end the dictatorship that according to them has spoiled their country.

Just as this articles is being penned down, news reports are telling us that Gamal Mubarak, the president’s son and his family have fled to Britain to escape the wrath of protesters. While the accuracy of this report is not sure, it is only logical for the president to safe guard the well-being of his family.

The blocking of internet websites like Facebook, Twitter and Blackberry however seem real as many people from inside Egypt are validating this story.

The mysterious land of Egypt, brought to life by the Nile, is a great place for holiday lovers. One can get a taste of every kind of pleasure here. Egypt is also famous for its perfumes. All along the roads are small shops that specialize in producing exotic scents, and they are truly exotic. Some even claim to sell scents that were recovered from pyramids!

The Suez Canal project is another feat of engineering, designed in more recent times. The canal provides a lot of revenue to this nation, as ships from Europe use this route to reach Asia. There is a particular stretch near the Suez where you reach the Asian continent. When you start on the stretch, you are in Africa, as you end the stretch you are in Asia!

Outside of its magnificent past, Egypt today is a lot urban and a fast developing nation. The tourism industry and Suez Canal are its major sources of income. The casinos and belly dancers will keep you occupied all night. And for the more affordable, the expensive boat cruises are a amazing way wind up for the day.
